Anthony Digennaro was born in the Port Richmond, Staten Island. He went to St. Roch’s Catholic School, and then to Port Richmond High School. He was drafted into the United States Army in December 1965. After finishing his basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey he was deployed to South Vietnam and he served with C Battery, 7th Battalion, 9th Artillery Regiment (Pershing) 54th Artillery Group, 2nd Field Forces.
After being discharged from the military Anthony went to work for New York Telephone (Nynex) as a telephone installation technician mostly in the downtown Manhattan area. He worked in the downtown area of Manhattan during 911, and continues to work in that area getting phone service back on line during the entire cleanup period. His wife Mary has been in the Carmel Nursing Home for a little more than five years.
Anthony was an active member of the Kells – Grennie American Legion Post No. 316
